The Bearden High School Foundation exists to assist students and staff in making Bearden High School a place of academic, athletic and artistic excellence.
Revised February 2007
With the current funding situation in Knox County, the
money to meet the many needs at all schools in the county is simply no longer
there. We must look for other ways to provide funds to improve and maintain
educational opportunities at Bearden.
Without a chartered Foundation in
place at BHS, any person or corporation desiring to give a monetary or in-kind
gift, regardless of the size, would not benefit from a tax deduction - nor even
be sure that the gift would stay at the school, but rather be distributed among
schools throughout Knox County. With the Foundation in place you can be assured
that your gift will stay at Bearden High School and will be a tax
deductible contribution. Donors also now have the opportunity to designate a
gift toward a specific purpose or department within this school.
With the
high cost of any level of education, we all need to do our part to ensure that
today's students have the ability to reach their utmost potential as tomorrow's
leaders
1. Provide funds for educational enrichment opportunities for Bearden High School students.
2. Establish a structure for individual and corporate contributions, testamentary gifts, and designated grants.
3. Work with the school staff and administration to identify areas of need within the school.
