COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Thanks to the generosity of the Bearden community, the Foundation has raised more than $900,000 for Bearden High School since the Foundation was established in 1998. The Foundation’s primary fundraising vehicles consist of an outreach campaign in the fall to every currently enrolled Bearden family  and the Bearden Golf Classic in the spring. Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to help support the work of the Bearden Foundation. Every dollar makes a difference at Bearden High School!

Dear Parents and Friends of Bearden High School,

Earlier this fall we hosted our annual giving campaign,
the Bearden High School Foundation Faux’n-athon. Principal Debbie Sayers, and Bearden alums Bert Bertelkamp and John Wilkerson, and alum/parent Pamela Ironside recorded and shared their reasons why they want you to join them in supporting the BHS Foundation with a financial gift. We are grateful for their endorsements!

Thank you to all who have donated to this important fundraiser. So far, we have raised over $20,000 from our Bearden family and friends, but we still need YOUR help in reaching our goal of $35,000.

It’s not too late to add your gift! The Bearden High School Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, and all donations to the BHS Foundation are tax-deductible and 100% of your gift will be used to benefit Bearden High School priorities. Small monthly gifts are easy to arrange with PayPal on our website: BHSFoundation.org.

School projects and programs funded by the BHS Foundation just this fall include:
•New textbooks for the Marketing Class (replacing 2006 edition);
• Fees for Virtual Enterprise Regional & State Competitions (Going to Nationals!);
• Fees for Science Olympiad;
• Aeration, over seeding, and new irrigation for Softball Field;
• Purchased a rack-mount virtualization server and a NAS Diskstation - the capabilities of which are part of the state-mandated standards (but not state-funded) for both the Cybersecurity 1 and Cybersecurity 2 courses;
• Funds for the Band to repurpose their concert Marimba with a field frame;
• Class set of the books, Animal Farm and The Odyssey and subscriptions to Upfront for Freshmen English;
• Purchased a new buzzer and case for the Scholars/Ethics/History Bowl Teams and Latin Club;
• $4000 gift to Grad Night which lowers the cost for all attendees and provides sponsorships to numerous others;
• $5000 towards Capital Project fund.

Thank you for helping today’s Bearden students become tomorrow’s successful graduates! Supporting students and faculty at Bearden High School benefits our whole community. I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season.

Respectfully,
John Standifer President
